Dalani Home & Living - Twin Competition

One of the hardest decisions and a distinctive starting point is choosing the type of theme to opt for. With choices such as football,  animals , outer space, fairytale, planes and flowers the possibilities are endless. Naturally any theme will involve matching furniture like bed, tables and storage, as well as selecting key lighting pieces with the appropriate theme and purpose.
As a parent, and head decision maker, it is important to find out what colours and things your children are into. Remember that children are susceptible to fads, and in 2 months they may not enjoy a bedroom completely kitted out in the style of the Action heroes or  Princesses!
You might also consider the gender role. A girl is more likely to favour a fairy or princess theme, while a boy is likely to be attracted to furniture and bedroom lighting that reflect a boat or racing car theme. Though there are no hard and fast rules and often girls like the things that boys like as well !
Alternatively it is possible to adapt them for both, especially if you have two sharing the same room. For example an animal, bird or insect theme will easily fit both.

Dalani Home and Living have created two amazing competitions to help design your home.
Competition One
Everyone who completes the first two steps will recieve a £15 off Dalani voucher, and exclusive to my blog, a chance to be the lucky Ninja Killer Cat reader who wins a £50 voucher:
1. Sign up to Dalani by clicking
2. Visit the  Dalani homepage then email clairtopl@aol.com and tell me the name of the brand in the sale at the top of the Dalani homepage
Competition Two
Dalani are giving two lucky readers across the blogs participating in this promotion a chance chance of winning a £250 voucher.  To be in with a chance of winning this you need to visit the  Dalani website and select a number of items of your choice, to the value of £250 that you would like to use to revamp a room in your house. Once you have selected your items, simply comment below on what the items are and why you have chosen them. Please don’t paste links. The competition ends 2nd April at 9:00am.

Myself I would choose some of the natural history cushions to accent my sofa and my new carpet which is being layed Monday the carpet will be of a Mocha colour  so I would choose some of the natural history cushions to accent everything. I would also choose some lighting , I must admit I am rather partial to the Liberty lamp. So now I am on my way to revamping my front room I shall have to sweetly talk to my husband about the other rooms in my, I mean our house that need doing. that's of course after he, I mean I have painted them !

  5. I have a 1930’s house, which I am furnishing in a "retro" style. I would choose the following items:

NewGate Clocks Dark Oak Mantel Clock @ £35

  6. As I live in shared-rented accomadation my bedroom is my only personal space but I don't really have the money for those luxury touches that would turn it into my little slice of heaven. On that note I would choose:

    Delblanco Goose Feather Duvet-Double @ £89
Delblanco Goose Feather Pillow Pair @ £65
Delblanco Abstract Duvet Cover- Double @ £26
    2x Delblanco cushion cover @ £18
Reinhold White Hanging Lantern @ £13
Natural History Humingbird Repeat Cushion @ £39

Naturally the bed is the focal part of the bedroom and the place that I spend most of my time sat on/sleeping in so that would definitely need a makeover with the gorgeous abstract printed duvet and cushion covers from Delblanco-and what better then to sink into goosefeather duvet and pillows?

I love the lamp even though it appears to be sold out, I think it would give off the perfect amount of twinkle-y light--not too harsh like my current light--creating a lovely ambiance in the room to help me destress and relax after a hard days work on my feet.

I have a desk where my laptop is set so this brilliant hummingbird repeat cushion would look fab on the hard wooden dining chair I have-currently making my bum go numb after a few hours and therefore sending me retreating back to my bed which is awful for dead arms/legs after a few minutes!

Love your blog, and this competition is fab <3

  11. I'm soon to move to London from the North West of England........I'm soon realising that what my rent money can get me up North is WAY different to what it'll bring down South......
So....as I'm probably going to end up living in a hovel, I'd buy 6 Natural History Cushions to surround myself with - those beautiful prints would always make any place feel luxurious! And I'd treat myself to a Natural History notebook with the rest to record my life as a pauper!! ;)
    BIRDCAGE NOTEBOOK BLUE
    BIRDCAGE CUSHION WHITE
    BIRDCAGE CUSHION BEIGE
    HUMMINGBIRD CUSHION BEIGE
    HUMMINGBIRD CUSHION WHITE
    HUMMINGBIRD REPEAT PRINT CUSHION
    HUMMINGBIRD SCRIPT CUSHION

*The candles are because I adore scented candles, I light one each night and love the smell it gives to my home so I would use this as an excuse to stock up!

*The cushions because I absolutely love the design and I can really see them on my sofa

    * The cake plate and cover because I love baking and this would ideal to keepy my cakes covered and away from nasty pests!

    * The slate plates are because I love the way these are used i restaurants to present food but always thought they would cost a fortune but not at Dalani these are a bargain!

*The vases are for their design and colur I can really see them in a white painted room as they would create a great focal point.

Thanks for the competition I enjoyed creating my wishlist

  15. I would love to turn my living room into a modern oasis using the Graham & Brown Mirage wallpaper in cream ( x 4 rolls). After a hard day at work, I would sit back and rest my aching feet on the dark brown leather Morrocan Pouffe (Rocomara) and flick through my holiday travel snaps that were neatly bound in the 'Paper High' Plain leather photo album. The contemporary touches provided by the Norman Copenhagen vases (white swing vase -Medium, black swing vase -small) and the London Eye print (small) would make the place look amazing!

  16. Would love the Oneida Cascada 44 piece cutlery giftbox because we are in desperate need of a decent set of cutlery - we have got a hodge podge of ones that we have gathered over the years (left over ones that haven't broken) so would love a nice quality set matches and these ones look like they would last a life time!
We need a new kitchen clock so Brookpace Lascelles DANDELION AND FAIRIE TIN WALL CLOCK would be perfect.
The Keri Bevan Photography FLOWER GEORGIA PRINT would look lovely in our hallway. Thanks for running such a fab competition xoxo
