Monday saw us going Cresswell Crags to see some Ice Age art, I wasn't prepared fir the temperatures at all! And that was still snow on the ground. It is the only place in the British isles where you can see Ice age art.
Creswell Crags is a limestone gorge on the border between Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, England near the villages of Creswell, Whitwell and Elmton. It is well worth a visit and it is has a high impact on family fun.
And the boys (husband & son ) made the Hairy Bikers Mud pie.
And then I read about slow blogging just as meaningful as when myself and my family go out and actually connect and enjoy the world. Slow blogging is essence about speaking a step back and not feeling compelled to blog your every waking moment , you make feel as if you have to but trust me you don't . In a nutshell its quality over quantity , wise words indeed ! A mantra for life if I saw one.
And blogging isn't about being snarky , something I have probably been guilty of in my time !! I am an honest blogger but I like my privacy at the same time bit of a double sword blogging is sometimes.
So I am pledging to write more mindfully and more reflectively thats's not to say I am going to call all happy chick on you and start burning insense ...( that I hope wasn't snarky ..)
Also with slow blogging is to read as much as you blog , take in some inspiration , don't just blog the first thing that comes into your head. So I'll be taking the slow bloggers pledge, will you ?
So as with the countryside around you sometimes you must stop...
Breathe...
And take a good look around you'll be a better person and blogger for it.

My daughter's school took them on a trip to Cresswell Crags last term and she loved it. That mud pie looks so delicious, I could eat a piece right now!

ReplyDeleteFabulous countryside and the pie looks pretty good too! I read about the slow blogging thing too - although if I get much slower I may stop! At least I can justify it by giving it a name now though! I may well be joining up!

ReplyDeleteLooks like an amazing place to visit! And very wise words about the blogging too, I think I am doing that too although I hadn't meant to but I feel better for it.
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures! Good luck with your slow blogging! I always forget what I'm blogging, and so when I would sit down, it would always be the same old thing!
ReplyDeleteLooks very beautiful - might have to venture up that way. Am liking the look of the mud pie.
ReplyDeleteHairy Bikers Mud pie I want it! Let it be mine lol :) x
ReplyDeleteWise words indeed! I backed away from twitter for exactly these reasons. I was so obsessed with looking at my phone I didn't look up and around. I am more of a slow blogger these days but it is enforced by time constraints. I would actually like to blog more and comment more! See, its wednesday and I'm only just finding the time to comment on your post now!
ReplyDeleteThe mud pie looks yummy; funny how so many of us have commented on that! I hardly noticed the other pictures! ;)
ReplyDeleteI startedd my blog because 'fast' blogging was making my life miserable. (I was posting five times a week for about 5 years.) Though I'm not sure the blog is an improvement, life is much more pleasant.
ReplyDeleteHope you're still reaping the benefits!
