I am very much of the moment type of person I get an idea in my head and just go with it , sometimes I have to hold myself back and plan more. Do you ever struggle and just want to rush out and do things ? , being Impetious can work. I think baking ,then going out and eat ing what I bake is beneficial to me not only am I learning and expanding on a new skill but I am also combining a love of the photography and the countryside.
Ingredients
To make 8 large scones you will need:
- 175 wholemeal flour
- 175 plain flour
- 2oz (50g) butter
- 4oz (112g) brown sugar ( optional )
- optional grated apple or sultanas
- 2 heaped teaspoons baking powder
- 200ml of Buttermilk or milk
- I free range egg
Method
This is what you'll need to do:
First pre-heat your oven to 200°C
First pre-heat your oven to 200°C
- Grease a baking tray
- Melt the butter
- Sieve together the flour, sugar (optional )and baking powder into a bowl
- Make a space in the centre of the mixture and pour in the melted butter , also at this stage at the egg ( already beaten)
- Mix together with a flat palate knife or your hands if you wish ( just be careful not to touch anything )
- Add in the sultanas or apple at the stage if you wish
- Add the buttermilk or milk adding a little at a time, this will make the scone mixture hold together without crumbling (not too much or the mixture will become very sticky)
- Either form into a round and shape each scone or just dollop on for a more rustic look.
- Place in the oven for 20 minutes or until golden brown on top ( keep at eye on them )
- Enjoy eating yummy warm scones with jam and cream ( Field is optional , this is my field *well I don't own it but I call it mine )
These look yummy will be trying these with Baba xx
